Merchant Services Business Developer


We are looking for Business Developers at TCG Payments who have experience in the Merchant Services industry and have experience with Payment Processing Solutions. Our growing organization is seeking experienced and emerging Business Developers who have a strong background in sales and can use intuition and tactfulness to build relationships and establish trust with new clients. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying and researching potential clients in your area.

Business Developers will coordinate with the Operations Manager to develop appropriate client proposals and create attractive offers regarding pricing and technology solutions. You will be responsible for following up with clients in the sales process and decreasing the sales cycle time by gathering the necessary documentation to set up customers with a new payment solution. Business Developers will be responsible for conducting ongoing market research in your area and surrounding areas to capitalize on potential opportunities. An ideal candidate feels very confident driving an end-to-end sales process.

Individuals who will excel in this role have a high degree of confidence in their ability to utilize interpersonal skills and managerial skills to build genuine relationships.

Qualifications (expected proficiencies to excel in this role)

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

  • Fluent in reading and writing English

  • Merchant Services Experience (Account Management, Sales, Operations)

  • Experience with Credit Card Processing Hardware (Pax, Ingenico, Verifone, Dejavoo)

  • Experience with POS Systems (Clover, Vital, SwipeSimple)

  • Experience with Online Payment Gateways (, NMI, SwipleSimple)

  • Experience with Major Credit Card Banks (TSYS, Fiserv/First Data, Global Payments, Worldpay, etc.)

  • Previously worked in the Merchant Service Department of a large bank or for a private POS Company

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to maintain a birds-eye view while also understanding the minutiae of a deal

  • Excellent Typing/Data Entry Accuracy

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research potential clients in your area

  • Develop and maintain client relationships through continuous touchpoints

  • Coordinate with the operation manager to develop appropriate proposals

  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with the operations team

  • Monitor contract deals to ensure contracts are executed as agreed

  • Track and report on the status of deals and proposals

  • Conduct ongoing market research in your area and the surrounding areas

  • Work with the operations manager to create rate proposals to present to prospective clients

  • Drive the end-to-end sales process
